Energy Smart Rebates Program
Managing energy use is an important business strategy for success. Commercial and Industrial (C&I) customers can take advantage of many Energy Smart business rebates available for remodeling and new construction projects. Rebates are available through the Prescriptive Program, the Custom Program, and the New Construction Program. Additional business rebates will be available in 2025. Lowell Light & Power C&I customers may receive a maximum of $10,000 in incentives per year.

Prescriptive Program
The C&I prescriptive rebates provide incentives when inefficient equipment is replaced with high-efficiency electric technologies, including:
- Interior and exterior lighting
- HVAC controls and equipment
- Compressed air audits – See Compressed Air page for more information
- Variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Commercial kitchen/retail
See the full application for list of all rebates available. If you don’t see a rebate for an efficiency upgrade you are doing, don’t hesitate to contact us to see if the project would still be eligible for rebates under the Custom Program.
Custom Program
The C&I custom rebates provide incentives to business customers who want to make improvements outside of the parameters of the Prescriptive Program. Please see the Energy Smart C&I Application for further details.
New Construction Program
We also offer business rebates for new construction or major renovations. Please contact us during the design phase to start the application process and to see which rebates you may be eligible for.
