National Engineers Week is February 18th – 24th.

During this week, we want to give a shout out to Generation Superintendent, Casey Mier, P.E.! Casey oversees the entire generation department, equipment, and associated operations at Lowell Light & Power.

“Engineering is at the forefront of innovation and is instrumental in designing and creating the solutions that are shaping the world of tomorrow. From the development of the internet and smartphones to space exploration and renewable energy solutions, engineers have been at the forefront of progress, making our lives more efficient, comfortable, and connected. Through their creativity, expertise, and dedication, engineering teams are addressing global challenges, driving technological advancements, and making a positive impact on society’s future.” -DiscoverE.org

Casey graduated from Michigan Technological University in 2008 and is a state registered Professional Engineer. He became an engineer because he had natural interests and curiosity in engineering type topics including structures, flight, space, sound, and physics.

He loves his job because of the variety of engineering disciplines it covers and the opportunity to never stop learning. “I am always trying to understand various types to engineering to help me be a better engineer. Electrical, mechanical, biological, and chemical systems are constantly interacting with each other. You have to try to understand the complete process to achieve the goal or task.”

We are grateful for all he has done over the last 6 years and everything he does every day!
