Lowell Light and Power is donating their time and resources to provide the Lowell area with FREE Christmas tree recycling this holiday season. January 1st through 10th, you can drop off your trees to the designated area on the Kent County Youth Fairgrounds. Look for the signs near the Bowes Road entrance.
Using our wood chipper, LL&P staff will chip the collected trees on January 11th and donate the wood chips for use on the Wittenbach Wege Center trails.
There’s no limit to the number of Christmas trees you can recycle, but all trees must be free from tinsel, lights or any other decorations.
“We are excited to offer this new program and help out a local organization,” said General Manager Charlie West. “We hope to have a lot of community participation, and we can make this an annual event.”
