For Kids!

Every year, Lowell Light & Power participates in fun and educational events for kids that focus on electrical safety and energy efficiency.

Think! Energy Presentations

Each November, LL&P and Consumers Energy representatives give an interactive presentation at Cherry Creek Elementary school talking about what electricity is, what roles it plays in our lives, how it is generated, and about how they can take action to become more energy efficient. Each child receives a backpack of energy saving devices, educational literature, a Home Energy Worksheet to complete with their family, and a few fun items too! LL&P gives classroom scholarships (up to $150 per class) based on number of Home Energy Worksheets returned.

Bushnell 1st Grade

Each May, we visit the Bushnell 1st Graders and talk about electrical safety, let them check out the bucket truck, and help the kids try on lineworker gear.

Impact Church

Each June, we share at Safety Town at Impact Church. This event is designed for kids going into Kindergarten, and we talk about electrical safety, let them check out the bucket truck, and try on line worker safety gear.

Storytime at KDL

Each summer, our lineworkers read the “If I Were a Lineworker” book during a Storytime at the KDL Englehardt Library. Each family receives a copy of the book and is able to check out the bucket truck.

Homeschool group tours of the Energy Center are available upon request – we follow the same format as the Cherry Creek tours.
