Jamie Teachworth, wife of former LL&P Distribution Manager Ryan Teachworth, passed away on August 11, 2025 after a brave battle with Osteosarcoma. Jamie left a legacy of giving, including 21 lifetime blood donations and volunteering 400 hours at Flat River Outreach Ministries. Before being diagnosed with cancer, Jamie donated blood as often as she could and encouraged others to do the same, not knowing that she herself would need whole blood four times during cancer treatments.

Ryan Teachworth described his wife as “just a great person, very selfless, always looking for ways to treat someone or make them feel special.”

“Jamie was such a gem in so many ways,” said Wendie Preiss, Executive Director of Flat River Outreach Ministries. “She mostly supported our clothing department, but Jamie was one of those people that just went wherever she was needed. Not only was she a hard worker, but she checked on those around her, offered a smile or encouragement where needed. And, fortunately for us, she was also stylish, helping to keep us up on the trends.”

Patty Dlouhy, owner of Sweet Seasons Bakery and Café and close friend of Jamie shared: “I am honored to have had a special friend like Jamie. She was strong and courageous and fought the battle with osteosarcoma until the very end. This type of cancer typically affects children and Jamie said she was glad that she got it so a child didn’t have to. That was the kind of person she was. She loved her family deeply and she and hubby Ryan exemplified a true love story.”

Dlouhy went on to say, “Jamie always said how important it was to donate blood as there always seemed to be a shortage. Thank you for honoring Jamie with your blood donation.”

The Blood Drive in Honor of Jamie Teachworth kicks off LL&P’s celebration of Public Power Week. LL&P customers can come into the office to receive a free goodie bag and popcorn, and enter to win a $50 bill credit or air purifier.
