That’s right! As a not-for-profit, public power utility, Lowell Light & Power wants to help you reduce energy consumption and lower your bills. We also want our community to enjoy many other benefits of energy saving trees. According to Arborday.org, trees boost community health and happiness in many ways:
- Encouraging physical activity and spending time outdoors
- Lowering blood pressure and stress, and improving mental well-being
- Reducing conditions that worsen respiratory problems like childhood asthma
- Supercharging the immune system
- Increasing mental focus
- Helping patients recover quicker from surgery or illness
With all these incredible benefits, LL&P is excited to announce we’ve partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation’s Energy Saving Trees Program for a second year. Through this program, residential customers have the opportunity to reserve 1 free tree, beginning August 1st, while supplies last. Your Energy Saving Trees options include Red Maple, White Dogwood and Saucer Magnolia.
How To Reserve Your Energy Saving Tree
There’s a short application to complete through the Arbor Day website listed on the insert with your August bill. The interactive website will help you determine the best place for planting based on the greatest energy savings for your home. Next, upon registration, you will receive an email confirmation. Finally, you’ll receive an additional email to inform whether your order was approved or denied.
UPDATE: As of August 12th, we have created a wait list for trees. If someone that reserved a tree decides they no longer want it, we will contact those on the wait list. To get on the wait list, please email us at [email protected]. Thank you!
Where & When to Pick Up Your Energy Saving Tree
The Tree Pick Up is scheduled for Saturday, September 14th, 2024 from 9 – 11 am. Please pick up the tree at the LL&P Energy Center, located at 625 Chatham Street. You’ll see our team members and signs directing you where to go to pick up your tree.
